My Favorite Vegan Dairy Products | Vegan Yoga Life

As a vegan, one of the questions I get the most from people is how I can live without cheese…or…milk…or ice cream… You get the picture! I wasn’t that surprised to find out that dairy is literally addictive!

Well, the answers is, it’s SUPER EASY! First of all, cutting out dairy forced me to get creative in the kitchen, which I’ve always loved to do. I’ve developed recipes for cashew nacho cheese, thousand island dressing and even macaroni and cheese!

There’s also an abundance of amazing vegan products on the market these days. Even if you aren’t sure where to find them in your local area, it’s super easy to order vegan products online (notice I’ve included links for all of my suggestions below). You can even subscribe to a variety of delivery services such as VeganCuts so that you can constantly try new products without even having to seek them out.

Butter 

Vegan butter is available from brands like Earth Balance. However, they contain palm oil, which is an ingredient that is not environmentally sustainable or 100% ethical. For that reason, I choose to cook with coconut oil and use other things instead of butter such as peanut butter or hummus. That being said, it’s possible to make homemade vegan butter. If you try the recipe, let me know how it turns out!

    I really love a few things on your list (That Kite Hill chive cream cheese is quite amazing) but wanted to add some others-the Miyoko butter is also fabulous. I love chocolate sorbet way more than any dairy or vegan ice cream and Sharon’s makes a great chocolate sorbet. So does Ciao Bella though theirs is MUCH richer and can only be handled in small doses. In Chicago, Soul Veg vegan nacho cheese is so delicious! There’s also a company called Feed Your Head that sells at Farmer’s Markets in Chicago (I believe the Lincoln Square one on Thurs. nights) which makes excellent Boursin and a few others. It seems like even small cities like Rochester, NY has smaller run vegan cheeses available (In Rochester, Vive restaurant is PHENOMENAL and makes their own plant based vegan cheeses)

    Love your vegan dairy suggestions! The hardest thing for me was to give up cheese but I have been finding great alternatives at Trader Joe’s. Still need to try Daiya cheese, I keep hearing about it. xx

Brunch at @bistrovonish. First time here so sharing a smorgasbord of deliciousness with @shanemberman...apple cinnamon French toast with home fries, shitake kolache, cinnamon roll and a donache(donut made from kolache dough). Amazing! Their sign wasn't lying. This is some elevated #vegan cuisine 😍😋🌱💖✌🏻
Leftovers! Gluten-free stuffing with caramelized onion mushroom gravy, roasted broccoli, creamed corn, roasted veggie salad and cranberry sauce. All 100% vegan, organic and cruelty-free 💖✌🏻️✨🌱#veganthanksgiving
Quinoa porridge with oats, walnuts, banana, brown sugar and coconut milk. Waiting for my mastermind group to start! 💖
Slow Cooker Soy Chorizo Chili from @veggie__chick. Perfect falltime dinner, super easy and delish! Topped with organic corn chips (because organic means they're healthy right?! 😂)
